About LSC Chapter 58
Our Chapter started in April of 2008, when several fishermen with a passion for chasing muskies got together to build a family oriented club for muskie anglers of all experience levels to enjoy. With the foundation of National organization like Muskies Inc., Lake St. Clair Chapter 58 was born. Our membership is active, dedicated, diverse and all about family. Here you will find fisherman from a novice level to those that have many years of muskie experience. Many of us are proven tournament winners, Charter Captains and very experienced anglers. Our goal is to educate everyone on the sport of muskie fishing. Promoting our youth into the sport of muskie fishing has been one of our primary focuses. They are our future, so it is up to us to make sure the legacy lives on. We support "Catch and Release" practices, which has led to the fishery that we have today on Lake St.Clair. Through education, preservation and release efforts we will continue to enhance LSC as one of the world's premier muskie fisheries. Membership meetings are an open forum format, held monthly and open to the public. You do not need to be a member to attend so please stop in and see what we are all about. LSC is world renown for its trophy size muskie, so that next hog just may be yours.
About Muskies Inc.
Muskies Inc. is widely recognized as the first organized group of sports anglers to espouse the "Catch and Release" practice now embraced by many conservation minded groups throughout North America. Today, Muskies Inc. focuses on three critical areas: Youth, Fisheries and Research. Muskies, Inc. is an active, service-oriented, non-profit organization for men, women and children with the single focus of improving the sport of muskie fishing everywhere the fish are found. Founded in 1966 by Gil Hamm, the original group of thirteen avid muskie fisherman concentrated on continual improvement of the muskie resource through rearing and stocking efforts and sound conservation practices. Today, departments of natural resources have realized the value of stocking muskies. Thirty-seven of the lower forty-eight states have active muskie stocking programs. Muskies, Inc. has expanded to over 7,500 members and 59 independent local chapters throughout the country. We have become a national voice of the protection of the muskie species.
